NORTHERN LIGHTS SAFARI ANDENES

Northern lights safari Andenes is new in Andøy and was founded by 4 northern lights enthusiasts in 2018.
The idea was to organize an organized and structured northern light experience for those visiting Andenes. Also, to organize a safari that meets the expectations of actually seeing the northern lights. Andenes is a city in Northern Norway in the Norwegian Sea from where much research is done into the Northern Lights. Many rockets to research this nature phenomenon are shot from Andenes from the rocket base.

PROGRAM: At 18:45 you are expected at the Sea Safari Brygga where coffee and tea are ready and where we start at 1900 hours with the Northern light evening. We start with a presentation about the origin, history and culture in Norway of the Northern light. We also explain the different types of Northern Lights and explain how you can make the best pictures here. Around 20:00 we are picked up and we drive to our destination outside Andenes. Here we get a headlight to have a good view where we walk in the dark in the snow.

We take a walk of ca 20 minutes to
a really dark place where there is no
light pollution. There also is a lavvo (a
Sami tent) where an open fire keeps
us warm and you can enjoy a snack
and Norwegian hot drink. When the
Northern Lights comes, we help you
with taking pictures.

We also take pictures of you with the Northern Lights, which you can buy at the end of the evening as a souvenir on an original USB stick.

At about midnight we are back where we started the evening, and we say goodbye.
